Custom games for kids

We build browser games that star a real kid, a real team or a real class. Their look, their number, their sport, their rules, their dog. Every project starts from games that already work, so your budget goes into the parts that make it theirs.

We reply within one business day.

Every game we build includes

  • Runs in a browser on iPads, Chromebooks, phones and laptops
  • Touch controls built for small hands, plus a keyboard
  • No ads, no in-app purchases, no chat, no accounts

What we can make theirs: their look, name and number, team and colors, friends and siblings, the family pet, places they know, their rules, voices, inside jokes and their own art.

Every package starts from a game that already plays

This is Hockey Kids, recorded straight from the screen. A Player Edition or a Team Edition puts your players into a match like this one, and a Custom Sport builds a new sport on the same engine.

Why we build games for kids

Paper Kid Games started at home. Everything we believe about kids and games, we learned building for one kid first.

A rule makes sense once you have played it

New players freeze on a goal kick because nobody has shown them where to go. A game that marks the spot and waits until they get there makes it stick. That's Learn mode in Soccer Kids.

Kids care about what is theirs

A kid will play a game about somebody else for a while. A game where they're the player, in their number and colors with their dog on the sideline, is a different thing. Our games start with the kid who will play them.

From a few sentences to a player in the game

An example, with a made-up player called Sam. Every custom game starts this way.

  1. 1. What you tell us

“Sam is seven and plays for the Gold team, number 23. Curly dark hair, black cleats. He takes every throw-in and won't stop talking about it.”

Typed into the Player Builder, or said on a call.

  2. 2. Their player card

    23

    Sam

    Soccer. Takes every throw-in.

Drawn by the game's own code, then sent to you for a thumbs-up.

  3. 3. In the game

The same kid on the field, in a game you can play.

How it works

Five steps, with your kid in the loop the whole way.

  1. 1

    Draft

    Day one

Build your player online, then a free 20-minute call about the sport, the rules, the pet and the inside jokes.

  2. 2

    Sketch

    First few days

We draw your kid, or your whole roster, as paper kids and send the cards for a thumbs-up.

  3. 3

    Build

    About a week in

A playable link, early, on whatever screen your kid plays on.

  4. 4

    Play-test

    As often as it takes

Your kid plays it and tells us what they love and what they want next, and we build it in. Then they play it again.

  5. 5

    Launch

    Your date

Live on an unlisted link or your own web address. More levels or another sport can follow.

Questions about custom games

Straight answers. If yours isn't here, ask us.

How much does a custom game cost?

Every project gets a fixed quote after a free 20-minute call, and it only changes if you change what you're asking for. The quote comes in writing, and nothing is owed unless you say yes to it. Putting your kid into one of our sports games is the smallest job; a new sport, or a whole arcade like Ziggy Games, takes more.

How long does it take?

We plan a Player Edition for one to two weeks from our call to your kid's link, a Team Edition for two to four weeks, a new sport for three to six weeks, and an arcade world for six weeks or more, built in stages. You get a playable link early and see it change after every round of feedback.

How does payment work?

A deposit to start and the balance at launch. The exact split is in the quote you sign, so there are no surprises about when money is due.

Who owns the game?

You own everything we make just for you: your kid's character, your places, your team's names and colors, and any art drawn for your game. Our game engine and our cast of paper kids stay ours, and your written agreement licenses them to you for your game. It spells all of this out before you pay anything.

How many rounds of changes are included?

Play-testing is built into every project, so the changes your kid asks for during the build are part of the job, not extras. Anything that grows the game past the quote, like another sport or more levels, we price before we build it.

Build your player and the plan names the package that fits. It takes about two minutes.
